On Thursday, February 7th, 2019, models, photographers, agency leaders, publishers, casting directors, and many other members and allies to the fashion industry came together at Neuehouse in New York City to celebrate the Model Alliance's 7th Anniversary. What a magical evening!
Models Kai Braden and Meisha Brooks discuss the need for the RESPECT Program and the Models' Harassment Protection Act to create a safe and fair work environment in the fashion industry.

Together, we took stock of our long list of accomplishments of the past seven years: from passing the Child Model Act in 2013 to launching the RESPECT Program in May 2018. Our anniversary video, produced by filmmaker Nic Koller, provides a snapshot of some of the highlights of the last near-decade of achievements.

Though there is much to celebrate, the night's conversation focused on the work that still needs to be done to ensure that the fashion industry is truly inclusive, as well as a safe and fair place to work. From the many inspiring stories and ideas shared, there was a unanimous call for action for more accountability and transparency to address issues such as sexual harassment, pressures to be dangerously thin, and late- and non-payment of earnings that have plagued the industry for far too long. The Model Alliance's RESPECT Program is designed to do just that, and much of the evening was spent planning for the year ahead.
