A Letter to The Children's Place

April 24, 2015 marks the two year anniversary of the deadliest garment factory disaster in history, when Rana Plaza, an eight story commercial building in Dhaka, Bangladesh, collapsed. The result was 1,138 preventable deaths, 2,500 injured workers, 200 orphaned children, and hundreds more left destitute.

The Model Alliance joins other organizations that are committed to children to urge The Children's Place, one of the largest producers in the factory, to pay full and fair compensation to the survivors who incurred injuries and the families of the workers who lost their lives in the building collapse.

UPDATE:

Children's Place has just made a contribution to the Rana Plaza Trust Fund, bringing their total contribution to $2.5 million! Children's Place is also encouraging other brands to make contributions to secure the $3 million still needed to complete the $30 million fund. Kudos to everyone who took action online to help bring about this victory!

The Children’s Place has just made a significant donation to the Rana Plaza victims’ compensation fund and is calling on other companies to do the same.
